Few words about us
We are a town center pub offering recently modernised accommodation, truly in the
heart of Totnes. All rooms are en-suite with 24h access from the main high
street, perfect for a short break or weekend away.
We offer a fantastic local menu with plenty to choose from, including one of the
best roast dinners in the town (with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options).
Every Saturday we have free live music featuring the best local musicians and every Tuesday a free pub quiz with prizes for the winning team.

"Just what Totnes needs! Great choice of Steaks served on a hot stone. We had 4 x 10oz Rumps served with all the trimmings. Great added bonus is the sides of garlic butter, peppercorn sauce and garlic Mayo, so if you are like me and cannot decide on a sauce this is fab. Highly recommend. "

"Amazing home cooked quality food with quick, helpful and friendly service. The Black Rock Grill rump steak with dips, salad, onion rings and chips was the best meal I've had in a long while and the lamb shank with honey roast carrots was excellent. What a find!"

"The squid and halloumi starters were AMAZING and generous in portions. Ham, egg and chips also great quality. Finally dessert was superb as well, bread and butter pudding and a brownie. Again it was evident this was made in house and well done. Service is what you expect from a pub but very welcoming. "

"Always the standard of the food exceeds our expectations. Always the welcoming bar staff and friendly atmosphere make us want to spend time here. And always at the end of the visit we are pleasantly pleased with the very reasonable costs for not only the drinks but the food as well."
